The first time I heard of Harry Potter was at the movies. My mother had to practically drag me into the theater to see it, I thought it was the most stupid thing I had ever heard of. Then the movie started to play and I was pulled into Harry's life and the magical world around him, I was hooked from that day on. I begged for the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, I got it a week later and I started to read it that same day. At first it was a little confusing and I was tempted to put it down more than once, but I gave it a chance and was rewarded with a wonderful story and an excellent well planned plot with memorable characters. The next book, Chamber of Secrets was even better than the first and is my favorite to this day. From there the books just kept getting better and better, they also got longer but you don't notice you get so wrapped up in the world. These books are filled with a story you wont soon forget, and characters you will love if you will give it the chance. This is a popular book that has influenced an entire generation to read, write, and create and it will influence you too.
